I've come to appreciate yoga fairly late in life...and wish I'd discovered it earlier! I'm a parent and a wife, so yoga has been a useful addition to my bag of coping strategies. I've been a teacher and how wonderful to be able to offer students various ways to relax and focus. In my earlier years as an aerobics instructor the breathing, flexibility and endurance techniques would have added much to my programs. Currently I am working in the Skills (Special Needs) program in a Middle school. I am so grateful to have the strength and mindfulness that comes with yoga. I have found a grounded way to greet the next phase of my life. Presently I am increasing my participation in the area of animal advocacy/rescue. I feel that yoga helps me to handle the sometimes difficult and heartbreaking situations with some clarity and hope.
