Seasonal Affective Disorder is about to take full effect on many of us within the coming months, Seasonal Affecticve Disorder (SAD) is a type of depression that is most commonly associated with the change of seasons in the fall and winter months. If you've been feeling heavy and sluggish, been over sleeping and noticed weight gain, you are not alone. About 2-6% of people experience SAD and about 15% of people experience a milder form. Some symptoms may include: 

• Irritability
• Low energy/tiredness 
• Loss of interest in many things you otherwise enjoy
• Oversleeping
• Weight gain due to appetite changes and increased cravings

Caused by the lack of natural sunlight during this time of year, your body's internal clock may be disrupted. Reduced sunlight can also result in lower serotonin and melatonin levels, resulting in sleep and mood irregularities.
