Community Yoga

In Balance Yoga is a combination of yoga, strength training, meditation and awareness. Develop strength and improve your overall core strength, flexibility, and balance. Everyone, despite age or physicality, can practice yoga.​

At IBWC we teach our clients how to develop safe flexibility, muscle stability, a balanced mindful breath and endurance through physical yoga practice. The yoga we teach is for everyone, regardless of size, age or gender.  Yoga is a proven method to develop strength and restore flexibility.  
Yoga has been studied by countless internationally recognized institutes such as: Columbia University, Cedars-Sinai Medical Group, Harvard School of Medicine and the University of Oslo to name a few. ​Yoga has been proven beneficial for a plethora of maladies from chronic back pain, menopause, depression, stress management, heart disease, cancer and asthma. The science behind why you should include yoga in your life at any age or fitness level, will pale in comparison to how you will feel once you start.

BECOME A CORPORATE PARTNER

Before your class

  • Please arrive early to check in, set up and prepare for your practice. Late arrivals can be distracting to everyone. 
  • Remove all footwear and place it on the shoe rack provided in the hallway.
  • Turn off all electronic devices. 
  • Avoid big meals two hours prior to class. Put your feet up the wall and press pause. 
  • Wear comfortable layered clothing.
  • Our studio is fragrance free. Please avoid wearing scented products as many people are sensitive or allergic.
  • If you are new to In Balance Wellness Centre, we recommend arriving 15 minutes early so you can fill out a waiver and learn about our studio.

During your class

  • Drink plenty of water before, during and after your class.
  • Bring your own yoga mat, block and strap if you have them. We have extra yoga mats and blocks, if needed, just ask. 
  • Work within your own bodies ability, it does not matter what anyone else is doing, yoga is not competitive.
